The TFO works exactly as advertised, providing a glowing, high-visibility dot sight in literally all light conditions. The fiber optic does the work in daylight, indoor, and low light conditions, while the tritium capsule takes over in near-complete darkness (it''s debatable whether one should be shooting anything in near-complete darkness, but I digress).
The reason this product did not receive a perfect rating is because in the course of consultation with local gunsmiths, I was informed that in their experience the TFO is too substantial to be reliably-secured to a Mossberg non-ribbed, non-590A1 barrel. The barrel is too thin to hold the screws against the leverage that can be generated against this big sight. The method of securing that worked was to high-temp epoxy the sight to the barrel (after stripping the bluing and anodizing, of course). This is what I went with, and so-far-so-good.
